I am a Visual Artist, born in Dublin, currently based in Co. Kildare. I received great encouragement at an early age having been supported and guided by my loving Father, the late Archie Raeside.

I have been drawing with pastels for over 30 years. A passion for Mother Nature, Celtic history and landscapes such as: Dolmens, Standing stones and Megalithic tombs made these subjects a joy for me to paint and draw in the past.

As a teenager I wished to attend art college, however my passion for animal welfare took over, as did the subject choice in school and so I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. This gave me a soulful purpose and a beautiful experience connecting with animals and allowed me to travel and work with NGOs Nationally and Internationally; connecting with people and animals from across the globe.

My art practice is a meditative and mindfulness process that allows me to be 'Me' and 'Be' in the present moment as a form of peace and calm; free from judgement.

In July 2022 I attended a week’s residency with The Riverbank Art Centre, facilitated by Visual Artist Clodgah Kelly. As part of the first fortnight award, focusing on mental health through art. This allowed me to be a part of a group exhibition ‘Freedom of Choice’ at the Riverbank Jan 2023.

I have become very focused with Gaia, Mother Earth and all she offers. For the last year I have been working with recycled cardboard to create 3D sculptures. I incorporate cyanotype prints to each sculpture, using natural elements to create the prints.

My studio is my home in Clane and although space can be an issue, I gain inspiration by living beside the natural beauty of the River Liffey and I am grateful to wake up to her splendor and energy every day.

My focus is to evolve and work with the Anthropocene concept in my art using recycled materials and to educate the audience on how our human activity has an impact on the world today.
